#BikeNYC has THE BEST bicycle parking. Seriously, places like Copenhagen don't even compare; we blow them out of the water!

NYC corner. With cars/buses in the background, there's some ebikes parked to a sad pole while my bike (a blue Yuba mid-tail) is locked to an orange construction/crowd control barrier. Both the barrier and bike are a partially falling over. The front wheel of the bike sits in a literal black bag of garbage.

During our morning walk I saw this Melolontha (Maikäfer) on the street.
I took him up and brought it to the next patch of grass.
It's the second one I see this year. It's causes a bit mixed feelings. I'm happy that I find them and watch them closely.
But it also makes me sad because when I was a child, I saw them ways more often.

The image is not in black and white and the dominant colors are grey and white. The bug is invertebrate and belongs to the insect category. It is a small arthropod, possibly a pest or parasite. The image is highly focused on the beetle, with no other objects or faces visible in the frame. The overall comp…
